چکیده
In this paper, we describe a technique using crystal spectrometer, silicon-diode detector, and filtered photoconductive detector to monitor photon energies in the L-shell (0.9–1 keV) K-shell regimes for nickel copper hybrid X-pinch x-ray sources. The detectors, system cabling, an 8 GHz digital oscilloscope combination enable time resolution better than 200 ps detectors 700 of K- radiation signals, respectively. We substantially improve relative timing signals obtained by streak camera with spectrometer line spectra and, separately, continuum burst 17 resolution. This instruments enabled validated new method which plasma conditions X-pinches can be assessed immediately before after ∼30 produced 370 kA X-pinches. general, described here applied observe otherwise highly filter-absorbed presence broad spectrum higher energy combining crystals detectors.

Sub-millisecond time-resolved SAXS using a continuous-flow mixer and X-ray microbeam
Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) is a well established technique to probe the nanoscale structure and interactions in soft matter. It allows one to study the structure of native particles in near physiological environments and to analyze structural changes in response to variations in external conditions. The combination of microfluidics and SAXS provides a powerful tool to investigate dynam...
متن کاملDeflection gating for time-resolved x-ray magnetic circular dichroism-photoemission electron microscopy using synchrotron radiation.
In this paper, we present a newly developed gating technique for a time-resolving photoemission microscope. The technique makes use of an electrostatic deflector within the microscope's electron optical system for fast switching between two electron-optical paths, one of which is used for imaging, while the other is blocked by an aperture stop. The system can be operated with a switching time o...
متن کاملSub-Nanosecond Lifetime Measurement Using the Recoil-Distance Method
The electromagnetic properties of low-lying nuclear states are a sensitive probe of both collective and single-particle degrees of freedom in nuclear structure. The recoil-distance technique provides a very reliable, direct and precise method for measuring lifetimes of nuclear states with lifetimes ranging from less than one to several hundred picoseconds. This method complements the powerful, ...
متن کاملEffects of thermal expansion of crystal-lattice on x-ray imaging crystal spectrometers
X-ray imaging crystal spectrometers with high spectral and spatial resolution are currently being used on magnetically confined fusion schemes to infer the time history of profiles of the ion and electron temperatures as well as plasma flow velocities. Recent studies indicate that the crystal temperature must be kept constant within a fraction of a degree to avoid changes of the interplanar 2d-...
متن کاملSize Distribution Measurement of Candle\'s Soot Nanoparticles by Using Time Resolved Laser Induced Incandescence
Time resolved laser induced incandescence (LII) technique is used to measure size distribution of soot nanoparticles of candle's flame. Pulsed Nd:YAG laser is used to heat nanoparticles to incandescence temperature and the resulting signal is measured. Mass and energy balance equations are numerically solved to calculate temperature of soot particles in low fluence regime. Assuming Plank black ...
